My Art

As an Ojibwe artist from Alderville First Nation, my work is deeply rooted in the rich traditions and stories of my ancestors. I draw significant inspiration from the Woodland style of art pioneered by Norval Morrisseau, which informs my approach to visual storytelling and symbolism. My artistic practice is a fusion of traditional Indigenous themes and esoteric teachings from diverse world religions and secret societies, reflecting a broader quest for understanding and spiritual insight.

I sign my artwork with "Aandeg," the Ojibwe word for crow and my family’s original name before colonization forced us to change it to the English word "Crowe." Using the Ojibwe word as my signature honors my ancestors and keeps the influence of the past alive in the present.
